Frequently Asked Questions

While it may seem like you are paying a more than your traditional vet appointment consider the following: our service provides each patient up to an hour long appointment. A standard appointment at most vet clinics is roughly 15-20 minutes.  We also have to factor in time spent travelling, gas and parking.

WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY MORE TO HAVE A VET COME TO ME?

While we feel that an integrative approach is the best way to treat our patients, we are happy to stick to a conventional/allopathic treatment plan should you desire.

WHAT IF I DON'T WANT A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO MY PET'S HEALTH CARE?

We practice integrative medicine, this means that we utilize allopathic and holistic means to promote health in your pet. Our goal is to limit the use of medication throughout your pet's life however we do not believe in an all or none philosophy.

I DON'T WANT ANY ALLOPATHIC (TRADITIONAL/CONVENTIONAL)  MEDICINE FOR MY PET - CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE?

We all know what great escape artists cats can be - particularly when it comes to strangers in the home. In our experience, cats do best in a confined area (bathroom/laundry room). We know how hard you work for your money so please ensure you cat is confined to a smaller room in the house 20 minutes prior to our arrival. We don't want to spend your appointment time trying to catch that feisty feline!

HOW DO I PREPARE MY CAT FOR THE VET VISIT?

Most forms of anti-anxiety/sedation medication can be given orally prior to our arrival. If your pet has never been to a vet before, we will try to do our best to accomplish as much as possible in our visit. If we find that your pet is just too stressed by our presence, we will complete a full history and consultation, prescribe medication and return to complete a full examination.
If your pet has been seen by a vet in the last year, we are happy to work with them to prescribe medications to be given prior to our arrival.
